The Zhengguan Terrace, with three enemy towers standing side by side, is a rare sight on the Great Wall. To the northwest, there are scenic nodes of the Great Wall, commonly known as "Niu Ji Jiao Bian", "Arrow Kou", and "Eagle Flying Inverted". Their terrain is steep and rugged, undulating and continuous, like a giant dragon soaring. Therefore, in 1987, it was named one of the Sixteen Scenic Spots of New Beijing, and in 1992, it was rated as the world's best tourist destination in Beijing. The appearance of the National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest", is the main venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the opening and closing ceremony venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, and the world's first "double Olympics opening and closing ceremony venue". As a landmark building representing the national image, the Bird's Nest goes beyond pure sports or architectural concepts and carries profound social significance. It has become a platform for international communication and an important window for showcasing China's image. National Aquatics center is a premium venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a classic renovated venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. It is also the only Olympic venue built with donations from compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.
