Itinerary

    Day 1: The Day Before You Go

    To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, here are a few things to know before your tour: Pick-up time and guide contact: We'll confirm your exact pickup time and guide details the day before the tour via email / SMS. If you don't receive this info by 8 pm, please contact us. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as some areas involve light walking. Bring your passport, as it may be needed for attraction entry or pickup. Dress according to the weather; a light jacket is suggested in spring and autumn. The tour operates in most weather conditions; in case of extreme weather, we'll contact you in advance.

    Day 2: 6:00 a.m.

    Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Chengdu, and set off for Dujiangyan China Giant Panda Garden or Wolong China Giant Panda Garden Shenshuping Base. It's a 2.5-hour ride.

    Day 3: 9:00–9:20

    Bring all the activity-related documents, and sign the safety agreement at the 2nd floor of the Science Center. Then you will be handed out work clothes and gloves. The staff will brief you on activity precautions and conduct training before escorting you to the panda feeding area.

    Day 4: 9:20–10:00

    Under the guidance of the Science Center instructor, clean the working area, chop bamboo for pandas, wash bamboo shoots and carry bamboo.

    Day 5: 10:00–10:30

    Watch the keepers feed the pandas and attend panda behavior training.

  6. 6

    Day 6: 10:30–11:30

    Attend the professional lecture delivered by the Science Center instructor to learn about the living habits of pandas.

  7. 7

    Day 7: 11:30–12:50

    Enjoy the "Panda Keeper Lunch" and take a break.

  8. 8

    Day 8: 12:50–13:50

    Watch a giant panda documentary.

  9. 9

    Day 9: 13:50–14:30

    Learn about the bun recipe, make steamed buns for pandas; and learn about the dietary differences between captive and wild giant pandas.

  10. 10

    Day 10: 14:30–15:00

    Chop bamboo leaves for elderly giant pandas in rehabilitation and recuperation.

  11. 11

    Day 11: 15:00–15:30

    Sharing session and summary, then you will receive an Experience Certificate issued by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.

  12. 12

    Day 12: 15:30–16:30

    After the activity, you may opt for a free tour of the park.
